Triptych Cards

 Poppy Stamps Triptych dies.

I had the cream left over from doing the tree trio

that is brown and cream.  I hated to waste it so put it on

green.  I really like the results.  I have also put the cream tree

on rust squares.  I like both.

Graduation cards

 Tim Holtz birds that a stamping friend let be stamp off.

Colored with Prisma Color pencils

and blended with a stump and baby oil.

 The congratulations is a Cheery Lynn Designs die

cut from black glossy paper.

 The 2016 is an old Spellbinders alphabet and numbers

cut from glossy black.

Stamped, embossed and hand painted.  

Love my butterfly stamps.

The image is stamped on scrapbook paper, embossed with

fine line black embossing powder and painted with 

Twinkling H2o's.

The embossed border was done on the card base

using an Anna Griffin folder.

The image is slightly raised to create a 3-D look.

Birthday Birds

 The above card is for my precious little grand daughters first birthday.

This card went to my cousin.

The die cut greeting is a Sizzix die

and the crazy birds are a Tim Holtz stamp

that a friend and fellow paper crafter let me use.

Lady Bugs

I got Amazon gift cards for Christmas and went shopping.

Found these lady bug dies which are just cute, cute, cute.

You have to understand, cute is NOT my usual style.

Note that the huge flowers been embossed using two 

different folders.

Two Versions

 Two slightly different versions of the 

same design.

The die is from Memory Box.

The stamp is from Stampendous.

Inspiring

Very simple with the phrase as the focal point.

Clean and Simple

 A very basic design.

The colored bar is Glue & Pearl Ex technique.

The stamp is a PSX.

 Again the color bar is Pearl Ex and glue.

 A small repeating pattern with a coordinating

plain card stock.

This time the color bar is a gift wrap layered

over black glossy card stock.

Prayer is the key

A Our Daily Bread Designs stamp.

The phrase and the frame have been raised

slightly off the card front with

the flat parts of a paper egg carton.

All edges have been sponged with

a dark brown ink.

Love Is

A very old Embossing Arts stamp combined with a 

Spellbinders border die cut with

a few pearls tossed in for good measure.

I really really wish the company that bought

Embossing Arts would reissue all those 

wonderful scripture stamps.

that has been attached to text weight paper.

really changes the whole look.

Love vs Loving Kindness

I was reading a commentary on Proverbs and there was a very very good explanation of the difference between love and loving kindness.

Here is the story.  A little girl goes to her mother and asks for bread and butter.  The mother gives her bread and butter, that is love, BUT the mother also put jam on the bread and butter without being asked.  That is loving kindness.

God's loving kindness to us often goes unnoticed.  For me it is little things in my day to day life.  Maybe I need to start looking a little harder for His loving kindness in my life and saying thank you.

Progress of designing a card

 The black and white card is made from left overs.

I just hate to leave spare parts laying around

because eventually I end up throwing them away

when I get struck by a cleaning frenzy.

 The above card is the final perfected design.

I has been embossed with fine line copper 

embossing powder and die cut with a 

Spellbinders die.

The metallic layers are a copper gift wrap

that was spray glued to text weight paper.

The green paper with the copper flowers

is from DCWV.

Note the smear of ink on the white.

I was sponging the edges of the card and

accidentally ruined it by getting ink on the phrase. 

 Here is the second design in the progression.

It's okay, but not making me thrilled.

The very first design.  It is so-so.

When you compare it to the finished final design

you can understand shy this one just did not

make me happy.

Thanks

The "thanks" is a new die cut.

I used some paper that was made

using the Pearl Ex and Glue technique.

Valentines

Here it is, the vision in my head worked for once.

I bought the happy stamp years ago.

Starburst IV

 Here is an example of two cards from one

starburst base.

I used the oval cut out for one card

and the outer portion of the cut out as a frame.

Note that the edges of everything have been sponged.

It adds great definition.
